Copyright & DMCA policy

We built Media Extractor for lawful use, and we act quickly on valid requests from rights holders.

Last updated: 31 October 2026

Our position

Media Extractor does not host, store, index or publish any of the media its users extract. The tool runs in each user's own browser, on a page address or HTML the user provides, and results are shown only to that user. The tool is intended for:

  • content you created or own;
  • works in the public domain;
  • content under a licence that allows downloading, such as Creative Commons or free stock libraries;
  • uses permitted by law, such as fair dealing for research, criticism or reporting.

What the tool will never do

  • Bypass logins, paywalls, subscriptions or geographic restrictions.
  • Remove or circumvent DRM or other technical protection measures.
  • Keep a public library or search index of downloaded files.

Sending a takedown or blocking request

If you are a copyright owner, or authorised to act for one, and you believe the service is being used to infringe your rights, you can ask us to block extraction from specific URLs or entire domains. Please email ruudrakarande@gmail.com with the subject “Copyright notice” and include:

  1. your name, organisation and contact details;
  2. a description of the copyrighted work;
  3. the URL(s) or domain(s) you want blocked;
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
  5. a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner;
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

We aim to act on complete notices within 3 working days, and we confirm by email once the block is in place.

Repeat misuse

We may restrict access for users or networks that repeatedly use the service to infringe copyright.
